warranty terms and conditions
LIMITED WARRANTY IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:
  • Original invoice must accompany all claims (both refunds and exchanges) under warranty.
  • No returns after 5 days.
  • Merchandise must be returned to Dependable Auto Parts.
  • Refunds or exchanges will not be made on parts without the Dependable Auto Parts stock number written on the part.
  • Unless an extended warranty is purchased and noted on the invoice, warranty expires 91 days after date of purchase. Requests for warranty coverage must be made within this period.
  • Warranty is non-transferable.
  • Returns (excluding defective parts) will be subject to a 25% re-stocking fee.
  • Special-order returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee plus shipping and handling charges.
  • No refunds unless replacement part is unavailable.
  • If replacement part is unavailable, in-store credit may be issued.
  • Warranty does not include electrical parts, windshield or other glass parts.
  • No returns or exchanges on ECMs.
  • Engines are guaranteed against abnormal engine noise, cracked block, or excessive smoking for a period of 90 days from date of purchase. Engine accessories (Including, but not limited to carburetors, distributors, water pump, spark plugs, wires, injectors, plugs, seals, gaskets, belts) are NOT included in the warranty.
  • Transmission lines must be flushed before installation. Proper adjustments must be made to transmissions for warranty to apply.
  • Special orders require payment in full at time of order.
  • No returns accepted on body cuts.
  • Cores containing fluids must have all fluids drained or a $25.00 environmental fee will be assessed to the core charge.
  • Engines are sold as a bare long block.

Warranty Does Not Include:

  • Labor, inconvenience, loss of vehicle use, towing, installation or other losses
  • Parts or materials (seals, filters, fluids, gaskets) used in installation of original part
  • Damage to parts caused by misdiagnosis, other broken parts, or failure to replace peripheral accessories (belts, fluids, seals, etc.)
  • Losses suffered due to misuse, accident, neglect or any other circumstance outside the control of Dependable Auto Parts
  • Parts used outside of intended application or in vehicles used for anything more than normal wear and tear, such as commercial, racing, or off-road purposes

Warranty Will Be Void If Part Is:

  • Not installed correctly
  • Used improperly
  • Used without correct lubrication or cooling
  • Modified, altered or adjusted to make it different from the original condition
  • Installed without new oil and filter
  • Installed by person, other than owner, without Garage Keeper's Legal Liability and Garage Liability Insurance Policy at time of installation

This warranty is in lieu of any other warranties either expressed orimplied. No action by any representative of Dependable Auto Parts shallextend the original warranty period or alter it's obligations.Dependable Auto Parts' liability from all causes is limited to the valueof the goods furnished. If goods prove to be defective, we will not beresponsible beyond the value of the defective piece, nor will we beresponsible for any damage or expense occasioned by the defective piece(except installation costs if an extended warranty was purchased). Anyexceptions to this policy must be so stated on the invoice. DependableAuto Parts reserves the right to inspect all parts either on-site or atthe customer's place of business. Warranty claims may be denied if thepart or customer fails to meet the terms and conditions stated herein.

EXTENDED WARRANTY IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

  • Same terms and conditions of the limited warranty apply except as extended under the following terms and conditions.
  • Purchased extended warranty must appear on the invoice.
  • Extended warranties must be purchased on the original purchase date.
  • Any warranty claims for coverage must be made prior to the expiration of the purchased warranty period.
  • Warranty expires:
    • 6 months after purchase date for a Silver Warranty
    • 1 year after purchase date for a Gold Warranty
    • 2 years after purchase date for a Platinum Warranty
  • Labor is covered only for the parts under extended warranty at a rate of $40.00/hour according to the Mitchell hourly rate manuals, up to $500.
